Zanjeerain Is Still Keeping Us Hooked, But Some Things Could’ve Been Better

Zanjeerain has given viewers plenty of reasons to the audience to stick to their screens. From Sarbuland and Rabeeya’s growing relationship to Torsam’s unpredictable actions, the drama has managed to keep things interesting. The latest episode 37 had some genuinely lovely moments, but it also had a few scenes that felt rushed. The editing was horribly done.There was romance, emotion, confrontation and even a major change in Torsam’s character. Some of it worked really well, while some parts left us thinking, okay, but how did we get here?

Sarbuland Calling Rabeeya His Zarmala Was Too Cute

Let’s start with the moment everyone was probably waiting for.When Sarbuland said, “Tum meri Zarmala ho,” it was such a sweet moment between the two. Rabeeya is now officially his Zarmala, and honestly, there was something really cute about hearing him say it.It was a special moment for them to see Sarbuland acknowledge Rabeeya openly after all they had been through. It was a small moment, but it added warmth to an otherwise pretty intense episode.

Sarbuland Stops Rabeeya From Making a Huge Mistake

When Rabeeya was about to shoot Torsam, it became serious.Rabeeya was clearly overwhelmed by all that had happened in the past and had reached a breaking point. When she was about to shoot Torsam, Sarbuland stopped her from committing a crime. On the other hand, he gave Torsam a chance to redeem.Sarbuland didn't want to get at anyone, but he wanted to protect Rabeeya's life from being destroyed because of Torsam. This showed a part of Sarbuland and his character.

Sarbuland and Bee Jaan Had an Interesting Conversation

The other scene that was very successful was the one between Sarbuland and Bee Jaan.At times, Bee Jaan's answer was quite annoying, as she would shrug it off as if she didn't know that Torsam had tried to kill people, including her son.Luckily, Sarbuland wasn't only going to say yes to her.He did not agree with her arguments. This is especially interesting because of the difference between the two characters. Bee Jaan's answer comes from the point of view of the older generation and Sarbuland's answer comes from the younger generation and the younger generation is more focused on accountability.It was not just another random family conversation. The scene actually showed how differently two generations can look at the same situation.

Rabeeya and Torsam Finally Face Each Other

The confrontation between Rabeeya and Torsam was predictable, but that did not make it boring.After everything Rabeeya had been through, seeing her finally face Torsam was a moment.Her pain and grief were completely raw. That was important to see. Rabeeya had been holding in so much after Mudassir's death, so finally allowing her to break down gave both her character and the audience a chance to breathe.Sometimes the emotional release is just as important as the confrontation itself, and this was one of those moments.

But the Continuity Was a Little Confusing

This is where the episode could have done better.Rabeeya was crying in Sarbuland's arms one minute, and then suddenly she was running out of the room with a revolver.The transition felt way too sudden.We needed to see what happened between those moments. What pushed Rabeeya from crying to picking up the gun? Was there something that triggered her?

The missing transition made the sequence feel disconnected. It also diminished the impact of Rabeeya's performance.Rabeeya's emotions were one of the parts of the scene so it would have been better if the editing had allowed that moment to build naturally.

Torsam's Sudden Change Was Hard to Believe

The most glaring problem was likely Torsam's change of heart.Torsam has been portrayed as ruthless and capable of doing things for so long. When Torsam suddenly showed a side it was hard to completely believe.Character development is always welcome, but it needs to feel natural.The writers could have shown a little of Torsam's softer side much earlier. Even a small amount at a time would have made his final change easier to understand.

What Worked and What Didn't?

Overall, Zanjeerain had some moments in this episode.Sarbuland and Rabeeya's relationship provided the romance, Rabeeya's confrontation with Torsam brought the emotion, and the conversation between Sarbuland and Bee Jaan brought a generational angle.But the editing could have been tighter, especially during Rabeeya's encounter with Torsam. And Torsam's character development was too rushed and too much.

But these problems do not overshadow the good work that Zanjeerain is doing.The characters created in the drama are real people that viewers can identify with, which is why even the weaker moments are fodder for conversation.Now that the story is moving forward, hopefully the upcoming episodes will give these characters the time they need to develop naturally.Because honestly, we're already invested. We just want the story to give us a payoff that feels earned.
