When “Love” Is Not Enough: Dr. Zainab Feroze Discussing Domestic Violence—and the Backlash It Revealed
In August 2025, during public conversations surrounding Feroze Khan’s alleged tumultuous personal history, Feroze’s current wife, Dr. Zainab Feroze, came out with a strong, professional statement to oppose domestic violence.
While many supported her position, others criticized her reasoning, insisting that social issues do not stop for celebrities.
The Statement: A Strong Discourse on Love Versus Violence
Zainab stated there was a viral video of another psychologist, Dr. Nabeeha Ali Khan, justifying domestic violence, and based on that, influenced by Zainab’s role as a psychologist, she made a stimulating post on social media: “Violence is not love, and women should never lose their dignity.”
As someone who works in mental health advocacy and research, her position was significant—especially since Feroze Khan was publicly implicated in domestic abuse cases. However, within hours, the internet responded: “First preach it to your husband.”
“You married your patient and violated your oath.”
“Is this essay posted to clean your husband’s image?”
Her professional voice—intended to uplift—was instead caught in the eye of a brewing storm.
A Marriage in the Shadows of History
Feroze Khan’s previous marriage to Syeda Aliza Sultan ended in an explosive custody and abuse battle. Aliza accused him of physical and psychological abuse. She presented bruises, medico-legal documentation, and police complaints to the court.
The court granted her custody and limited visitation rights for Feroze. His lawyers responded by declaring the evidence “fraudulent,” and Aliza’s brother stood in defense.
Feroze fought back—sending defamation notices, even publishing celebrities’ private information online, provoking public backlash, and facing more legal challenges.
Dr. Zainab Feroze’s note about domestic violence puts forth an important point: violence can never be love. As a mental health professional, she undoubtedly brings eloquence to this discussion, and the book she published will undoubtedly add depth and importance to this topic. But what emerged in Pakistan’s entertainment field is flawed.
The starting point is that there are ongoing misconduct allegations, and that is more than sufficient reason to question the integrity of any message above simply sending a signal. Her association with one of the key figures involved (passing the trend) in recent history—everyone in this industry has an understanding of—means that even an innocent, positive statement would be viewed through the prism of defense/distraction.
