Biography
Osman Khalid Butt is a dynamic Pakistani actor, screenwriter, theatre director, and choreographer. He gained nationwide fame for his work in Aik Nayee Cinderella (2012), Aunn Zara (2013), Diyar-e-Dil (2015), Baaghi (2017), Ehd-e-Wafa (2019) and Chupke Chupke (2021). Osman Khalid Butt won his first Hum Award for his performance in Diyar-e-Dil, after which it opened collaborative opportunities in both film and television for him. Beyond acting, he is also a writer and an editor. His screenplays include the horror Siyaah (2013), and the rom‑coms Janaan (2016) and Parchi (2018). He also directed the choreography for the hit song “Billo Hai” in Parchi.
He made his debut in theatre in 2005 in Islamabad. In 2007, he founded The Living Picture Productions. He also ran a popular YouTube vlog channel “The Living Picture Guy” in the late 2000s as his creative outlet. He co‑founded Desi Writers Lounge, serving as its creative lead and poetry editor for the bilingual writing. Through this, he mentors emerging South Asian voices. He regularly speaks up on social issues. He has supported gender equality and ran mental health campaigns, and reforms in child labor laws.
