Biography

Imran Abbas was born on 15 October 1982 in Islamabad, Pakistan. He comes from a culturally rich family with roots in Uttar Pradesh, India; his father worked as a civil engineer, and the household was frequently visited by acclaimed Urdu poets—sparking young Imran’s early passions for painting, singing, and Urdu poetry.
He was originally trained as an architect at the National College of Arts, Lahore, and he switched to modeling at around the age of 20 due to growing opportunities in fashion. He made his screen debut in the TV serial Umrao Jaan Ada (2003) where he played Nawab Sultan and began to launch his career as an actor.
It was the 2011 spiritual-romantic drama Khuda Aur Mohabbat, where he played the character of Hammad Raza, which pushed him into instant fame and was a threshold in developing his career. His range of ability was demonstrated through strong performances in Pakistani dramas, such as Dil-e-Muztar (Adeel, 2013), Alvida (Hadi Salman, 2015), Mera Naam Yousuf Hai (2015), Tum Kon Piya (2016), Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai (2017), and Koi Chand Rakh (2018).
In 2014, Imran made his Bollywood debut opposite Bipasha Basu in Vikram Bhatt’s horror thriller Creature 3D. Despite mixed reviews, his performance earned a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He followed this with roles in Jaanisaar (2015), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (cameo, 2016), and Abdullah: The Final Witness (2016)
Recent drama projects include Amanat (2021), Ehraam‑e‑Junoon (2023), Tumhare Husn Ke Naam (2023), and Dil Ka Kya Karein (2024). In 2024, he starred in the cross-border Punjabi film Jee Ve Sohneya Jee, which is located throughout Europe and the UK—impressive, as it effectively broadened his cinematic field.
As of 2025, Imran is single, and private about his personal life. He is active on social media, has a significant following, which blends goodwill and loyal worldwide fans, and is recognized as the most handsome and highest-demand actors in Pakistan. He is also an avid devotee of art, poetry, music, nature, and pets, reflecting the creative turmoil that deeply influenced him in his formative years.
