Biography

Gohar Rasheed, born Mirza Gohar Rasheed, is one of Pakistan’s most respected and versatile actors. He studied theatre and media at Government College University and Beaconhouse National University before moving to Karachi to pursue his passion in entertainment. He began his media journey as a line producer at Hum TV, but his heart belonged to performance. He soon transitioned into theatre around 2008, making his debut with Bombay Dreams and earning recognition for his roles in plays such as Moulin Rouge, Sawa 14 August, and Half Plate.

Gohar had his film debut in the memorable drama Seedlings (2013). The film brought him nominations at the New York Film Festival, Luxe Style Awards, and ARY Film Awards. On television, he has impressed in Shikwa, Digest Writer, Mann Mayal, Ishqiya, Raaz‑e‑Ulfat, Pardes, and more. His 2024 mini-series Mann Jogi, alongside Bilal Abbas Khan and Sabeena Farooq, included bold material on themes regarding religious and social exploitation. The mini-series drew a great deal of audience and critical attention. He starred in another drama, Jindo (2023), inspired by real events alongside Humaima Malick and Samiya Mumtaz.

On the film side, Gohar has appeared in high-profile films such as Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Yalghaar, Rangreza, and The Legend of Maula Jatt. He made a name for himself as a powerful screen presence. Outside of acting, Gohar is an RJ at Radio 1 FM91 Karachi for his show “Pakistanwallah”. He is recognized for challenging inter person roles and rendering them in layered authenticity. He has publicly stated that he views his facial scars as example of tenacity and he has turned down cosmetic remedies because he believes that imperfection embraces the process of recovering from trauma, and he can promote that reality for the viewer.

In early 2025, Gohar startled fans when it was revealed that he secretly married the fellow actor Kubra Khan.They quietly wed in Makkah on 12 February in a serene private ceremony. The pair shared heartfelt announcement photos from the Grand Mosque, symbolizing a deeply spiritual start to their partnership. Gohar Rasheed stands today as a fearless performer, a thoughtful creator, and a voice of conviction in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
