The much-anticipated final episode of the drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon has stirred an uproar online. The end was not up to expectations. Fans thought it lacked emotional depth, and the story lost its direction.
The story lost its track in the end. It started with a bold message and ended at an unreasonable, incomplete end. Fans were expecting scenes of Suraiya and Babar Ali’s closure and Shamrez and Madiha’s marriage.

On social media, users shared their disappointment. Many said the drama began with a strong message but ended with mixed ideas and exaggerated scenes. Others felt it failed to do justice to the title, saying “This was not Manto’s spirit — it was just melodrama.”
The episode ended with Mehmal and Manto’s marriage, whereas Farhad was shot by Ifrah’s father. Ifrah, the girl killed by Farhad, was played by Hajra Yamin. The finale left behind some major questions. Was the ending worth it? Why were there no scenes of Madiha and Shamrez? Why was the finale rushed? How can the production house promote teacher and student affairs?
Right after the episode aired, social media was filled with angry reactions. Fans posted clips and comments calling the finale “pointless” and “poorly written.” One viewer tweeted, “The story had so much potential but ended like a bad joke.”

Even those who praised the actors agreed that the script was weak. They felt that despite the talented cast, the writing lacked sensitivity and purpose.
At Six Screen Entertainment, Main Manto Nahi Hoon was good at starting,
which derailed midway. A good cast can not save a drama if the writing is unreasonable, disrespectful to its audience, and unbalanced.
The outcry captures a bigger conversation about our dramas in Pakistan today. A new audience wants better, more responsibly executed stories than fictional narratives.
