Abid Ali

Abid Ali, continues to be recognized as one of Pakistan’s most talented, established, and experienced actors, producers, and directors. He began his career with Radio Pakistan in Quetta and first performed in television in 1973 in PTV’s Jhok Siyal. He made his mark in the unforgettable serial Waris (1979), as Dilawar Khan and define him as part of the television legacy. He would then perform in Dasht the first private television production in Pakistan and Doosra Aasman the first drama to be shot abroad, and continued his successful career in directing and producing for television. He did many diverse roles in television from family drama like Saheli (2007) and Massi Aur Malka (2009), to even late prime time production Bunty I Love You, Diyar-e-Dil and Aangan. He also appeared in more than 200 films over forty years of his career. He received the Pride of Performance in 1986. Abid Ali passed away due to liver failure in 2019, leaving behind his wife Rabia and three daughters, including celebrated actress Iman Ali and singer Rahma Ali.
